Virat Kohli has known Tim Southee for over a decade and a half and the bond was evident during the first day of the Pune Test. The incident took place after New Zealand were bundled out on the opening day of the ongoing Pune Test. While the Indian team was coming inside the dressing-room and the New Zealand team walking out for warm-up – that is when Southee bumped into Kohli. The two got into a friendly banter and the moment is bound to melt hearts. Going by Kohli’s gesture, he was expecting Southee would get playful and that is exactly what happened. The all-rounder registered his best figures of 7 for 59, which is the best bowling performance at the MCA stadium. Besides that, the 25-year-old also managed to attain a monumental feat.

Trailing 0-1 in the three-match series, Team India needed to put pressure from the outset on New Zealand and Washington Sundar stepped up to lead as an architect in the objective. Sundar dismantled the New Zealand batting line-up and has rendered the Indian batters to complete the job in the road to level the series.
