Two Arrested with Ganja Worth Rs 8.72 Lakh in Palghar

Palghar: In a major drug bust, authorities in Maharashtra ‘s Palghar district arrested two men with ganja worth Rs 8.72 lakh. The arrest followed a police raid on Saturday in Shivacha Pada, Vasai, near the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway.

During a raid on Saturday in Shivacha Pada, Vasai, near the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, the police discovered 13.5 kg of contraband in a car parked at the location, Senior Inspector Pramod Badakh said.

He said that the two men inside the car, identified as Santosh Ramjit Jaiswar (26) and Vikas Zinjute (22), were arrested at the scene. Both were subsequently arrested and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for their involvement in the possession of the illegal substance.

The official mentioned that the police were investigating the source of the contraband and trying to determine who the two men intended to sell it to.
