Rohit Sharma Crafts His Skills, Undergoes Training Before Heading To Australia For BGT Series

The countdown to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is ticking as Team India jets off to Australia for the coveted Test series. In a bid to retain their title, several Team India stars have jetted down under to adapt to the conditions ahead of the series. After facing a humiliating defeat, the Men in Blue are determined to climb back to glory and successfully defend the title while in Australia. With the series closing in, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma got some work done with the bat as he honed his craft and took up some training.

India Skipper Rohit Sharma Trains Up Before Jetting Off For BGT Series vs AUS 

With several Team India stars taking up some training in Australia, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma got himself some game time as he underwent some training. While he has not reached Australia yet, Rohit got himself some game time while in India. Rohit Sharma’s team shared a recent image of him taking up some batting practice in what looked like the Jio Cricket Ground

Rohit Sharma is expected to travel with team India in the second batch of players, who will be heading to Australia. Stars like Yashasvi Jaiswal Rishabh Pant and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar have flown down under, while Virat Kohli travelled there separately. The Indian Cricket Team have been taking up practice at the iconic WACA Stadium inside closed doors before the India vs Australia Test in Perth.

Rohit Sharma’s appearance in the 1st IND vs AUS Test in Perth is yet to be determined as the India star is yet to make an official confirmation of it. With Rohit and his spouse, Ritika Sajdeh, are reportedly expecting their second child, he may not be a part of the team and be with his family in such a precious time. Head coach Gautam Gambhir also confirmed that it is still unclear whether Rohit will be available for India in the first Test or not.

“There is no confirmation. We’ll let you know. Hopefully, he’ll be available. Everything you’ll get to know by the start of the series,” said Gautam Gambhir in his press conference.
