The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled an 18-member squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. The five-match Test series between India and Australia is scheduled to start on November 22 in Perth. There are a few surprising picks in the squad. Abhimanyu Easwaran, Harshit Rana, and Nitish Kumar Reddy have received their maiden Test call-ups for the Australia tour. 

Who is Abhimanyu Easwaran?

Abhimanyu Easwaran, the prolific Bengal batter, has been rewarded for his outstanding domestic form with a spot in the Indian squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Easwaran, who has accumulated over 7000 runs in the Ranji Trophy, will travel with the team as the third-choice opener, alongside Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Easwaran has been one of the most successful batters in domestic cricket, with a strong record in the Ranji Trophy and other tournaments. His ability to score big runs and anchor the innings has made him a valuable asset to his team.
