Chennai: The Tamil Nadu capital and other areas of the state have been witnessing extremely heavy rainfall for the past few days and the weather department has also issued an alert for upcoming days. Chennai Rains: Weather Department Issues Alert

Heavy rainfall has been predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for the whole of Tamil Nadu, on Thursday and Friday. Moderate rainfall is likely to be received by Chennai as per the regional meteorological centre. Apart from Chennai, 23 districts of Tamil Nadu have been issued an alert on Thursday including Kancheepuram, Cuddalore, Chengalpattu and Puducherry among others.

Chennai Rains: School Holiday on November 14?

Chennai has received heavy rainfall on Tuesday night and a similar weather is expected to persist on Thursday as well; cloudy weather with maximum and minimum temperatures at 30 degrees and 24 degrees Celsius is likely.

Despite heavy rain, schools will not be closed today, there is no school holiday on November 14. All educational institutions will remain as per usual timings today on Children’s Day.
