Given his greatness and records, it is always hard to ignore Virat Kohli – but former England captain Michael Vaughan did when he picked the player to watch out for in the upcoming BGT. Days ahead of the first BGT Test at Perth, Vaughan picked the Indian players to watch out for. Vaughan reckoned left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal would be one and the other one would be Rishabh Pant .

“Rishabh is gonna have to play a blinder once again”

“Yashasvi Jaiswal would be one, but Rishabh Pant, I think he is absolutely box-office. He makes batting look more like he’s just playing in the backyard. For India to be really competitive, this man on screen Rishabh is gonna have to play a blinder once again.”

During India’s last tour of Australia, Pant was the hero for the side as he played a brilliant match-winning knock to take his side over the line in a stiff game. Pant remained unbeaten on 89* off 138 balls.

Team India UPDATE

The entire Indian contingent on Wednesday came for an afternoon net session at the WACA and were also joined by some India A team members.

Virat Kohli batted for a considerable period of time at the nets along with other main batters.

Skipper Rohit Sharma , waiting for the birth of his second child, has not joined the squad yet, although coach Gautam Gambhir remained hopeful that he could link up with the team before the first Test. A confirmation is awaited, though. 

The first Test will be played in Perth where it is going to be a bouncy strip as per reports. The game begins on November 22.
