‘Once you finish the Australia series, you go back a better cricketer’

“Gauti bhai had a chat with the boys just before we started, and some of the senior boys too. Rohit, Virat, Ash all having a chat with the guys – how first they came here as a youngster with a lot of seniors around. And how they sort of felt that once you finish the Australia series, you go back a better cricketer,” Abhishek Nayar shared.

Meanwhile, the India team would be low-on-confidence after they were whitewashed by New Zealand at home. The loss against NZ also hampered their chances of making a third consecutive World Test Championship final. Mathematically, India need to beat Australia 4-0 in the five-match Test series and that will certainly not be an easy task. What will give the Indian team some comfort is history. Team India has defeated Australia on their home soil in the last two occasions. Reports suggest regular India captain Rohit Sharma is set to miss the first Test.
