Speeding SUV Car Rams Into Divider In Uttarakhand’s Haridwar, 4 Killed

Haridwar: In a tragic road accident, four people were killed after a speeding SUV car carrying members of a wedding party rammed into a divider before getting overturned in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar. 

According to officials, the car was part of a convoy which was attending a wedding ceremony in Roorkee on Thursday night.

The vehicle, reportedly speeding, swerved, crashed into a divider, and overturned. It was part of a convoy heading to a wedding in Roorkee. The crash resulted in several injuries, with four passengers confirmed dead at the scene.

“Last night, Manglaur police station received information that a Scorpio hit a divider and overturned. Police immediately reached the spot, and everyone was rushed to the hospital. Four people died, and the injured were referred to a health centre. They were travelling from Meerut to Roorkee to attend a wedding procession. There were about 10 people in the vehicle. The condition of two of the injured is critical. Initial investigations reveal the car was moving at high speed,” said SP Gairola.

The case has been registered and an investigation is underway in the matter, police said. 

Meanwhile, in Dehradun, six people lost their lives in Dehradun when their car collided with a truck in the early hours of Tuesday.

A video of the incident is circulating on social media platforms, showing the bodies of the deceased victims—some lying on the road, while others remain trapped in the car.

It has been reported that the group, traveling in their Innova, attempted to race with a BMW after it overtook them. Further reports indicate that they were heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.
