Mohammad Rizwan Upset Over Pakistan’s Missed Chances As Australia Take A 2-0 Lead

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Pakistan’s new skipper Mohammad Rizwan rued over the team’s loss at the hands of Australia. Rizwan applauded the bowlers’ efforts but also emphasized that the missed chances cost them big-time, which led to the team losing the 2nd T20I match.

“Bowlers bowled really well. But if you drop crucial catches, it will cost you the game. We all know pitch wasn’t easy to bat. Catches were crucial,” Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan said.

Pakistan’s fielding was in shambles after Salman Agha and Shaheen Afridi dropped the catch of Marcus Stoinis, giving him two lifelines. Even Babar Azam dropped Tim David during the play.

Speaking of the match, the 2nd T20I match turned out to be a low-scoring affair at the Sydney Cricket Ground after Australia chose to bat first. Openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short created a 50-run partnership in three overs, which gave the Aussies a potent start. But PAK’s Haris Rauf got the batter of the batters after he took out Fraser . he also dismissed Skipper Josh Inglis for a duck, and Rauf bagged a four-wicket haul. AUS were dismissed at 147 and Pakistan had a solid chance to capitalize on the chance. However, the visiting side had a poor start and could not withstand the AUS bowling domination. The batting hit a major snag after Spencer Johnsen heavily derailed PAK’s momentum in the game by taking a five-wicket haul. Pakistan was limited at 19.4 overs and managed to score 134, falling short of 13 runs from the target. The Aussies are now leading the series and would aim to secure a clean sweep. On the other hand, Pakistan will aim for a consolation win at the Bellerive Oval.
