New Delhi: In a first-of-its-kind step, the BJP has named Ramkumar Chaurasia as its WhatsApp head in Madhya Pradesh, marking a strategic move to strengthen communication and grassroots outreach.

Ramkumar Chourasiya, a Bhopal-based private sector employee, has been entrusted with leveraging WhatsApp to connect with the public and disseminate information about the party’s policies and initiatives.

Chourasiya, who holds an MSc degree, revealed that while his roots lie in the Raisen district, he has been residing in Bhopal for the past three decades. He is affiliated with booth number 223 of the BJP.

Initially, Chourasiya organized small programs within his locality. However, with his new designation as the state’s first WhatsApp head, his primary responsibility will be to utilize the platform for communicating BJP’s ideology and government schemes to voters in his booth area. His objective is to ensure that every voter in the booth is informed about the party’s policies through WhatsApp.

This initiative coincides with the BJP’s preparations for organisational elections. Recently, State BJP President VD Sharma assumed the role of booth head for Ward-80 in Bhopal, inaugurating the “Booth Organization Festival.”

The party has designed a robust framework for all 65,015 booths in the state, assigning 12 critical officials to each booth. These roles include the booth president, booth minister, BLA-2 (party workers), WhatsApp head, Mann Ki Baat head, beneficiary head, and Panna head.
