Team India has announced their side which has a mix of veteran cricketers and raw talent, who have showcased flair while making their India debut. Sourav Ganguly Brushes Off Concern Over Young Star’s Inclusion For BGT Series & Facing Unfamiliar Tracks
While speaking to Revsportz, Sourav Ganguly clarified his thoughts on Team India keeping Sarfaraz Khan in the main squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. While several critics believe that the middle-order batter’s inclusion in such a high-profile Test series is quite early, Ganguly underlined upon handing opportunities to the cricketers before handing out a ruling. He also emphasized that Sarfaraz has scored huge runs in domestic cricket and has earned his spot on the national side.
“You have to give him a chance to know. How can you say anything without giving him an opportunity? Let him fail first. He has scored tons of runs in domestic cricket and has earned his spot in the team. No one has given it to him. So don’t write him off before you have given him a chance. Once you do so, then you will be in a position to judge. I am very clear – you must give him an opportunity to know how good or bad he is. Without doing so, don’t pass judgment on him,” the former Team India skipper said.
