India might have won the T20 World Cup on June 29, 2024, but their wait to win an ODI World Cup continues. Team India came pretty close to win the ODI World Cup in 2023, but they faltered in the finals. What broke the hearts of the Indian fans was the fact that up until the final, India hadn’t lost any game. Their only loss came in the final and that was enough to shatter the dreams of an entire country who had almost visualized skipper Rohit Sharma lifting the World Cup trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

India last won the ODI World Cup in 2011 under the leadership of MS Dhoni and since then, the entire country has been longing for an ODI World Cup win. India had two semi-final exits in 2015 and 2019 and they ended up qualifying for the World Cup Final in 2023, but things were not meant to go India’s way.

Marnus Labuschagne Posts Throwback ODI WC Picture

Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne did not have a great ODI World Cup barring the finals where he played a crucial knock and led the Aussies to a famous win batting alongside Travis Head. Marnus played 110 balls and scored 58* to seal Australia’s sixth ODI World Cup victory. On the first anniversary on Australia’s sixth ODI World Cup win, Labuschagne posted a picture of himself and Travis Head with the World Cup trophy.
