The highly anticipated Test series, the Border Gavaskar Trophy is just under a month away as India is set to travel ‘Down Under’ to face Australia in a five match Test series starting November. The first Test of the series is scheduled to start from 22nd November at the WACA stadium in Perth.

Ahead of the first Test match, Australian captain Pat Cummins has sent a stern message to Rohit Sharma & Co – Australia is ready to silence India once again just like they did in 2023 World Cup final.

Pat Cummins ready to silence India

Aussie skipper Pat Cummins traumatised Indian fans when he remarked that there’s nothing more satisfying in sports than silencing a big crowd on the eve of facing India in the ODI World Cup final at Ahmedabad. Cummins then backed up his talk as Australia beat India in the final.

A year down the line, Cummins is back playing this mind game once again. Ahead of the first Test Cummins told to AAP during his book launch that the baggy green’s job come the Australian summer would be to keep the men in blue quiet.

“They’ve been out here before and performed well. Our job is to try and keep them quiet, see how we go,” said Pat Cummins.

Pat Cummins further said that he is desperate to beat India in the Test series and bring the Border Gavaskar Trophy back to Australia. Cummins further said that they expect to do well against India in the series.

“Most Australians, me included, expect us to do well whenever we play at home. We’ve lost the (last) two series against them (in Australia), so this is a big one. We feel like our team’s in a really good place, so we’ve got no reason why we shouldn’t perform really well,” said Cummins.

The World Cup winning captain has never ever defeated India in a Test series before, hence he admitted that he is desperate to finally get one thing ticked off.

“It’s kind of the one big thing that I want to tick off…Particularly winning at home,” added Cummins.
