Mumbai: The main accused involved in the Baba Siddique murder in Mumbai has been arrested by the Mumbai Police Special Task Force (STF) in a joint operation with the Uttar Pradesh Police STF on Sunday. The main accused, identified as Shiva, a resident of UP’s Bahraich, who was on the run since the sensational murder of Baba Siddique took place on October 12, has been arrested by the police along with his associates from Bahraich’s Nanpara.
According to the police, the accused, Shiva was trying to flee to Nepal after remaining underground for nearly a month after allegedly shooting dead the NCP leader outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique’s Bandra office.
As per a police official, apart from Shiva, the police have also arrested four other accused in the case, for their alleged role in harbouring him and aiding his escape. The other accused have been identified as Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhileshendra Pratap Singh.
Further legal action is being taken into the matter.
