Hathras: An elderly couple from Pata Khas village in Hathras district was assaulted and later succumbed to their injuries on Sunday. The family blocked the Agra-Aligarh highway in protest. The family demanded action against the village head and his supporters, whom they accused of involvement in the attack.

The incident occurred in the Mursan police station area, where the couple was allegedly attacked and left critically injured. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, they could not be saved. 

Following the deaths, the family and local villagers gathered on the Agra-Aligarh highway, blocking the traffic and calling for immediate justice.

Police arrived at the scene, spoke with the family, and assured them that action would be taken against the accused. 

After the intervention, the body was taken for post-mortem examination to assist in the ongoing investigation.
