RG Kar Medical College Student Attempts Suicide In Hostel, Critical

Kolkata: A nursing student of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital allegedly attempted to commit suicide inside her hostel room leading to major chaos among the students. The victim student was reportedly rescued by other students in the hostel and was hospitalised. According to the reports, the condition of the victim is critical at the hospital. 

A senior police official stated that the victim, a second-year nursing student of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, allegedly tried to end her life following a dispute with her roommate in the hostel. 

The student, a resident of West Bengal’s Purulia district, is currently being treated at the hospital’s trauma care unit.

During the preliminary investigations, the alleged incident took place late on Saturday night following a quarrel over switching off the light.

The police said, “The student had filed a complaint with the college authorities, but they blamed her, leading to her depression. She was later found in a pool of blood and was rescued by other students. Police are investigating the matter.”

Further legal action is being taken into the matter.
