Iconic CSK Reunion Ensues As MS Dhoni Meets Suresh Raina before IPL 2025 Retention

Just two days before the IPL 2025 Retention deadline, Former Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raine had a meetup with his former compatriot, MS Dhoni. The franchise stalwarts have been a part of four IPL title wins in CSK, when they won in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. Raina was a key player when MSD led the side, and both of them have a stoic legacy in the team.

Raina posted the image of him and MS Dhoni meeting on ‘X’ [Formerly Twitter], where he exclaimed his delight on meeting him. “Always a pleasure catching up with you mahi bhai !” Raina wrote on the tweet.

Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni share a unique bond which is strong both on and off the game. Both of them have had each other’s backs throughout their career and have also represented Team India. Both of them also retired on August 15th, 2020. But Raina has stepped away from IPL competition and focuses on his various ventures.

The former India cricketer has already hinted that he wants to ‘enjoy whatever few years of cricket’ he has left, indicating that there may still be time before he moves on from the IPL. The uncapped-player rule could be a boon for the fans if CSK opts for it and picks up Dhoni for another season.
