Motor City Machine Guns Secure Historic Feat After Winning SmackDown Tag Titles off The Bloodline

Friday Night SmackDown was an action-packed show full of thrill and a fascinating title change in the main event of the show. The Blue Brand showcase featured some amazing tag team action, featuring the newcomers, the Motor City Machine Guns. At the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, NY, the MCMG went on to win the WWE tag team titles off The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. After clinching the tag titles, not only did they secure a massive win off the members of the Bloodline, but they also made history in the process.

Motor City Machine Guns Make History After They Win WWE Tag Titles In Just Three Matches 

Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin, the Motor City Machine Guns, clinched the WWE Tag Team Champions from the Bloodline’s Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa in an Impromptu title match-up. The MCMG initially defeated #DIY’s Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa and became the number one contenders for the tag team championship titles. Right after their win, Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline came out, and The self-proclaimed Tribal Chief tossed in a title match in the main event of the Blue Brand showcase. GM Nick Aldis made the match happen, and the bell rang.

The Motor City Machine Guns went on to win the SmackDown’s Tag Team Championship Titles after they defeated Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa of the Bloodline. Shelly and Sabin also received some help from the OG Bloodline when The Usos and Roman Reigns took out Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu from ringside. MCMG Hit the Skull & Bones to pin Tonga Loa and clinch the tag team gold in WWE. The team’s first tag title win is historic, as the Motor City Machine Guns become the first tag team to win tag titles in the WWE, ROH, NJPW and TNA wrestling promotions.

Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin’s wins added tensions to the Bloodline saga as the Solo and Roman-led factions are now all up against each other. There is still more in the intriguing storyline, but there is a chance that both sides could end up brawling in the Survivor Series: War Games. It is yet to be seen what happens next.
