PCB Drops Two Senior Stars From Pakistan Team While Babar Azam And Shaheen Afridi Return

In a significant overhaul, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced new squads for the upcoming white-ball series in Australia and Zimbabwe, marking the return of former captain Babar Azam , pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah. However, senior players Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan have been dropped from the teams.

Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan dropped from Pakistan teams

The selectors have introduced several new faces to the squads, while Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah return after being sidelined for the last two Tests against England. Notably, Fakhar Zaman, who is facing an inquiry from the PCB for his social media post following Babar’s omission from the Test squad, has been dropped from the teams.

The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, is set to announce the new captains for the limited-overs formats later today. Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha are tipped to be named the new white-ball skippers.

This shake-up in team selection indicates a fresh approach by the PCB, aiming to infuse new talent and energy into the teams. The upcoming series will be closely watched as Pakistan seeks to revitalize their performance in international cricket.

The Australia tour is slated to run from November 4-18. Meanwhile, the three-match ODI and T20I series in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe will be played from November 24 to December 5.

Pakistan will also be touring South Africa for three ODIs, three T20Is and two Tests in December-January.

T20I squad vs Australia:

Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah, Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Muhammad Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Omair Bin Yousuf, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufyan Moqim and Usman Khan.

ODI squad vs Zimbabwe:
