The Board of Control for Cricket in India have announced a 15-man squad for the four-match T20I series against South Africa. The series will take place ahead of the iconic Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series, and India’s young guns will be in action against the Proteas Men. The four-match series will commence on November 8th, 2024, in Durban. The Final T20I will take place on November 15th at Johannesburg.

The Indian Cricket Team will be heading to South Africa for a four-match T20I series. India’s Young squad, with Suryakumar Yadav leading the charge, will lock horns with the Proteas Men in various regions of SA in the away tour. Top guns like Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson are a part of the squad, and notable call-ups have also been made. Ramandeep Singh, Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vyshak have earned their maiden India call-ups and will be a part of the squad in South Africa.

The BCCI also offered details on the omission of three Indian cricketers. Pacer Mayank Yadav and all-rounder Shivam Dube are missing out from the squad. Notable, Yadav received his maiden cap in the Bangladesh T20I series and made an instant impact in the team. But the speedgun and Dube were unavailable for selection owing to injuries.
Another big blow is the absence of the dynamic all-rounder Riyan Parag. The Assam-based all-rounder has been advised to go for a long term resolution of his chronic right shoulder injury. In that case, he was deemed unavailable for selection as well.
