New Delhi: Security has been tightened outside the Canadian High Commission after members of a Hindu-Sikh group marched in protest against the attacks on Hindu temples in Canada.
The Hindu Sikh Global Forum members were marching towards the High Commission in the Chanakyapuri area.
Police said they had set up barricades outside the High Commission to maintain law and order. However, some protesters were seen attempting to climb over the barricades.
“We have deployed additional forces and barricadings outside the High Commission of Canada following a protest march call. No one will be allowed to breach law and order,” a senior police officer said.
There have been several violent incidents targeting Hindu temples in Canada, with the most recent occurring at a temple in Brampton on November 4.
