India will have a stiff test when they take on Australia in the Test series and hence a suggestion that Sachin Tendulkar should be made the batting consultant. Former India cricketer WV Raman took to X and made this suggestion. As per Raman, Tendulkar’s experience of playing in Australia would come in handy and hence the management should consider this. Raman also mentioned that roping in consultants is a common thing nowadays.

“I think that #TeamIndia could benefit if they have the services of #Tendulkar as the batting consultant in their prep for the #BGT2025. Enough time between now and the 2nd test. Roping in consultants is rather common these days. Worth a thought?: he wrote on X. 

IMPORTANCE OF BGT

With the spot for the third consecutive World Test Championship on the line, the five-match Test series against Australia is extremely important for the Indian side. Following the 0-3 loss against New Zealand at home, India find themselves in a precarious spot regarding qualifying for the WTC final. The Indian team would know that Australia would be no pushovers and hence a mouthwatering contest would be on the cards.

India have first official session, Kohli joins nets  

The entire Indian contingent on Wednesday came for an afternoon net session at the WACA and were also joined by some India A team members.

Virat Kohli batted for a considerable period of time at the nets along with other main batters.

Skipper Rohit Sharma , waiting for the birth of his second child, has not joined the squad yet, although coach Gautam Gambhir remained hopeful that he could link up with the team before the first Test. A confirmation is awaited, though.
