3 Coaches of Secunderabad-Shalimar Express Derail Near Howrah, No Casualty

Kolkata: Three coaches of the Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Superfast Express derailed near Nalpur station in Howrah early morning on Saturday. 

The incident occurred at around 5:30 am as the 22850 Shalimar-bound train was approaching the station. According to initial reports, four coaches were affected after the derailment with one of the carriages completely overturning.

The derailed sections include a parcel van and two passenger coaches. Relief and medical trains from Kharagpur and Santragachi arrived promptly at the site, and buses have been arranged to transport passengers to their destinations.

As per now, no casualties have been reported so far.

“The weekly special train derailed at Nalpur, about 40 km from Kolkata. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far,” officials said.
