Dehradun Crash: Video Captures Moment Friends Decapitated as BMW Race Ends in Grisly Accident

Dehradun: In a horrific road accident, six people lost their lives in Dehradun when their car collided with a truck in the early hours of Tuesday.

A video of the incident is circulating on social media platforms, showing the bodies of the deceased victims—some lying on the road, while others remain trapped in the car.

As per the video, the heads of two victims were separated from their bodies. 

Tried To Win Race With BMW Car

It has been reported that the group, traveling in their Innova, attempted to race with a BMW after it overtook them. Further reports indicate that they were heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.

A video in this regard has also surfaced where they were seen consuming alcohol right before the ride.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday at ONGC Chowk in Dehradun.   

The collision, which reduced the car to a mangled wreck, occurred around 1.30 am at the ONGC Chowk. The car rammed into the truck from behind and the six died on the spot, Circle Officer (City) Neeraj Semwal said.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who was on a visit to Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag, expressed grief at the loss of lives in the accident.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday at ONGC Chowk in Dehradun. 

The deceased students were identified as Kunal Kukreja (23), Atul Agrawal (24), Rishabh Jain (24), Navya Goel (23), Kamakshi (20), and Guneet (19). All of them were from Uttarakhand’s Dehradun except Kukreja who hails from Himachal Pradesh .

The seventh person has been admitted to the hospital. 

‘Drink and Drive At Centre of Spotlight’

After the incident, several social media users are urging youngsters not to drive the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. 

“This is a heartbreaking reminder – Please don’t drive rashly or under any influence. It’s never worth the risk. Value your life and others on the road. Drive responsibly,” one user wrote. 

“No matter who overtakes you on the road, Never overspeed,” another wrote. 

In India, a harrowing number of 3314 fatalities occurred in 2021 as a direct result of individuals getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol.

Even after the stringent rules being framed by the government, the drinking and driving cases have not reduced. 

As per the current rules, for the first offense, the offender could face a fine of up to Rs 10,000 and an imprisonment of up to six months. If the offense is repeated within a year, the fine can go up to Rs. 15,000 along with imprisonment of up to two years.
