Delhi: Woman Travelling With Her Newborn Killed in Tragic Accident Near BSF Camp in Tigri

New Delhi: A fatal accident occurred in South Delhi, in the early hours of Sunday near the BSF Camp on MB Road in Tigri, leading to the death of a 23-year-old woman. The deceased, a resident of I-Block, Sangam Vihar, was travelling with her husband and their 21-day-old newborn baby in an autorickshaw to Safdarjung Hospital. After the incident, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she was declared dead. 

A case has been registered by the police in the matter and further legal action is being taken. 

According to the police, the incident occurred, when the autorickshaw driver lost control and overturned the vehicle on MB Road in Tigri.

As per the police, the husband, who was the eyewitness, rushed his wife to the hospital, where she was declared dead. After the accident, the autorickshaw driver fled the scene, and the eyewitness was unable to note down the vehicle’s details or the driver’s identity.

On the statement recorded by the deceased’s husband, the police have registered a case under relevant sections and have launched a manhunt to nab the accused auto driver. 

The body of the deceased has been shifted to AIIMS mortuary for post-mortem.

Further legal actions are being taken into the matter.
