Bengaluru: Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, who has also been India’s External Affairs Minister and Maharashtra Governor, has passed away at the age of 92, in Bengaluru. SM Krishna has also been the recipient of Padma Vibhushan.

Former Karnataka CM SM Krishna Dies at 92

Former Chief Minister and Former External Affairs Minister of Karnataka, S.M. Krishna, passed away at the age of 92. He breathed his last at 3 AM this morning at his residence in Bangalore. He had been suffering from age-related health issues and had been hospitalised on and off for the past few months.

Family Issues Statement

“S M Krishna is no more. He breathed his last at 2:45 am at his residence. Mortal remains are likely to be taken to Maddur today,” the source said. 

Who is SM Krishna

Born in Somanahalli in Karnataka’s Mandya district on May 1, 1932, Krishna also served as the External Affairs Minister and the Governor of Maharashtra.

After a long stint in the Congress , Krishna joined the BJP towards the fag end of his political career.
