Italian Cyclist Detained Near India-Pakistan Border In Kathua

Kathua: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken an Italian national into custody for roaming near the Indo-Pakistan border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua. Marco Sciacca, a 40-year-old cyclist, was detained while exploring village Bhagwana Chak, close to the border.

According to police sources, Sciacca, an avid cyclist, has travelled to 16 countries, including China and Pakistan, during his adventures. Meanwhile, his sudden appearance in a sensitive border area raised suspicions, which further led to his detention by the security personnel. 

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have initiated a probe into the matter, citing security concerns and the need to ascertain Sciacca’s motive behind his visit to the border area. 

Further details into the matter are being awaited.
