MVA’s Maharashtra Manifesto: Key Promises Include Rs 3000 for Women, Rs 50,000 for Farmers

Mumbai: The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance released its manifesto on Sunday, outlining five key guarantees, including a farm loan waiver, Rs 25 lakh health cover for farmers, Rs 3,000 monthly aid for women under the Mahalakshmi Scheme, free bus rides for women, and a caste-based census. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge led the announcement in Mumbai, joined by leaders from Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The MVA, comprising Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena faction, and Sharad Pawar ’s NCP, promised to remove the 50% cap on reservations, while financial aid measures and welfare programs formed a core part of the manifesto’s commitments. Leaders Supriya Sule, KC Venugopal, Sanjay Raut, and others participated in the launch.

MVA Promises Five Guarantees in its Manifesto for Maharashtra

In addition to the farm loan waivers, the MVA assured a Rs 25 lakh health cover for farmers, a monthly financial aid of Rs 3,000 for women, and free bus services. Kharge said these guarantees would provide around Rs 3 lakh of annual aid to each family. Farmers repaying loans on time would also receive Rs 50,000 each.

With the Assembly elections scheduled for November 20, the MVA and the BJP -led Mahayuti coalition have ramped up campaigns as voting approaches. The BJP also unveiled its manifesto earlier on Sunday, offering 25 assurances for Maharashtra if re-elected.
