A 24-year-old football fan who idolizes Cristiano Ronaldo travelled from East China to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on a bicycle, which is a 13000 km journey.

Chinese Superfan meets Cristiano Ronaldo In Riyadh After Travelling 13000 KMs in Six Months

One of Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans recently travelled through countries to meet his idol in person. But it isn’t any trip that any person would think of. A Chinese man who goes by the surname of Gong decided to travel to The Saudi Arabia Capital after he couldn’t meet Cristiano Ronaldo after his China Trip was cancelled in February. As per the South China Morning Post, Hong hailed from East China’s Anhui Province and did not have enough money to buy an aeroplane ticket to meet him. He then began his journey to meet CR7 back on March 18th, 2024, and it took him six months to reach Riyadh. He crossed through seven countries before reaching Saudi. He even reportedly had a high fever in Armenia, passed out on the side of the road, and was given free medical care there.

Reports added that Gong had “60,000mAh power banks, a tent, cooking utensils, clothes, and some life essentials.” Throughout his six-month trip, he often survived on bread in countries where he couldn’t afford to buy food due to high prices. Gong finally reached Riyadh on October 10th, but he was not in the city as he was in Europe. But Al-Nassr set up a one-minute meeting so he could meet the Portuguese superstar.

“I have met my hero,” the fan exclaimed in glee after his meeting Ronaldo. He also received a CR7 & Al-Nassr Jersey and also got a banner signed by the star forward which he brought on his trip. “What I dream of is true love and freedom,” was written on the banner, apart from his friends’ names.
