At the Quinas de Ouro gala, which was organised by the Portuguese Football Federation, five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with the esteemed Platinum Quinas Award. Emphasising his record-breaking 133 goals in 213 international games, the honour honours his extraordinary achievements to Portuguese football. Portugal’s triumphs in the 2016 UEFA European Championship and the 2019 UEFA Nations League also owed much to Ronaldo’s leadership.
Ronaldo, 39, keeps breaking new records in his career, and his most recent honour honours his ongoing influence on the national squad. Prime Minister of Portugal Luís Montenegro and Fernando Gomes, President of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), attended the event.
Ronaldo considered his path with the national team throughout the ceremony, remembering his 18-year-old debut and his outstanding mark of over 200 international appearances.
