‘I Will Return’: Gerard Pique Opens Up On Possible Return To FC Barcelona

Gerard Pique is one of the biggest club legends of Spanish football club FC Barcelona. The football legend announced his retirement from professional football a few seasons back. The legendary center back had spent almost all of his senior career at the club is greatly loved by the fans. He also took a wage cut to help Barcelona during their time of financial constraints further solidifying his legend at the club. Recently Gerard Pique opened up on his plans on whether he plans to return to FC Barcelona or not. 

Pique Opens Up On Possible FC Barcelona Return 

Gerard Pique spend 14 years at FC Barcelona and had risen through the ranks of Barcelona’s academy La Masia. He also spent a brief amount of time at Manchester United before returning to Barcelona in 2008. Since 2008 he stayed at the club till 2022.

“Later, perhaps, I will return to football doing something different. I’m not interested in being a coach, 20 years of routine has saturated me.

“I needed to change. Many years between Manchester United and Barcelona, playing every three days, ends up making you saturated. I have beautiful memories, I was lucky and I won a lot and I fulfilled my dream as a child, to play at the Camp Nou,” said Gerard Pique about a possible return to FC Barcelona. 

Gerard Pique Holds Iconic Status At The Camp Nou 

Spanish defender Gerard Pique currently serves as the CEO of the football competition Kings League ever since he retired from FC Barcelona.

He spent his career playing with several iconic players and several iconic managers during his days at FC Barcelona. 

Gerard Pique played with the likes of Lionel Messi, Carles Puyol, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets. He also played for managers such as Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique.
