The IPL 2025 has a lot of buzz before the new season commences. The mega auction has added the hype as several superstar cricketers have made themselves available to be a part of the cash-rich cricket league. After the teams made their official retentions, 1574 Indian and overseas cricketers registered themselves for the mega auction. The BCCI and IPL have shortened the list, with 500+ players available for grabs in the auction, which is scheduled in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
BCCI Cut Shorts Players List To 574, T20 World Cup Sensation Surprisingly Dropped!
The BCCI reduced the initial list of 1574 players to 574, with 366 Indians and 208 from outside India. All current Indian players are in the top base price bracket, with Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Arshdeep Singh leading the 574-player list with a top base price of Rs 2 crore. Apart from Pant, who is expected to be the most expensive purchase at the auction with a team like Punjab Kings looking to go the distance with Rs 110.50 crore, other notable names include IPL winning captain Shreyas Iyer, India’s most prolific T20I bowler Arshdeep Singh, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Avesh Khan.
England’s Jos Buttler, along with his compatriots Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow, has the highest base price of Rs 2 crore. Retired pacer James Anderson has also made it to the curtailed list and is priced at Rs 1.25 crore. www South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Mitchell Starc are among the top international players. Marco Jansen and Rachin Ravindra are also on the list and are priced at Rs. 1.25 crore.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old India U-19 cricketer from Bihar, is the youngest among the group, with a base price of Rs 30 lakh. Unmukt Chand, the former India U-19 World Cup winner who moved to the United States, has also been named an Associate member nation player. However, US seamer Saurabh Nethravalkar, who received huge hype during the T20 World Cup 2024, was not selected. Thomas Draca of Italy, who plays for MI Emirates, did not make the cut either.
