IPL 2025 Mega Auction Probable Retention List: We are roughly a little more than two days away from the IPL Retention Day and hence all kinds of speculations are doing the rounds. Fans are eagerly waiting for the retained list to see if what they predicted turned out to be true or not and to also know how their favourite franchises are shaping up for the mega auction. Here’s a breakdown of the possible retention strategies for each team, shedding light on the likely choices for the upcoming season.

Possible retention list

CSK: Ruturaj Gaikwad , Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Matheesha Pathirana, MS Dhoni (Tentative)

Logic: If our predictions are right, then the Super Kings manage to hold onto their famed core. There is a high possibility Dhoni continues to play. 

MI: Rohit Sharma , Hardik Pandya , Jasprit Bumrah

Logic: The MI franchise may retain these three cricketers and then look to use their RTM’s for Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan. 

RCB: Virat Kohli , Mohammed Siraj, Will Jacks

Logic: If these are the three players they retain then they may opt for RTMs for Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar. This also means they do away with Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. 

KKR: Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer. 

Logic: KKR may smartly use their RTM’s for Rinku Singh and Varun Chakravarthy. Rinku and Chakravarthy have been proven match-winners in the past and KKR would love to have them.

RR: Sanju Samson , Yashasvi Jaiswal

Logic: RTMs may be used in the case of Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult. 

SRH: Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma

Logic: This is another smart franchise and at the auction, they could use their RTMs for Washington Sundar and T. Natarajan. 

GT: Shubman Gill, Sai Sudarshan, Rashid Khan

Logic: The Titans may use an RTM for Mohammed Shami. 

LSG: Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Marcus Stoinis

Logic: The Super Giants would be in a conundrum over KL Rahul . If they let go of Rahul, they would need a captain. 

PBKS: Sam Curran, Arshdeep Singh

Logic: This is one franchise that would look to start afresh, yet one feels they will hold onto these two stars. 

DC: Rishabh Pant , Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav

Logic: The team would surely eye Jake Fraser-McGurk for the RTM card. Another franchise, like Punjab , which would look to start afresh.
