Two days ahead of the scheduled fight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Mike Tyson & Jake Paul among other undercard stars were present at the Toyota Music Factory in Irwin. After the open workouts, the fighters interacted with the media personnel and the fighters had a face-off before the fight day. MMA journalist Ariel Helwani noticed a shiny object on Jake Paul’s ear and he asked the Youtuber-turned-boxer about it. Paul responded that he did not intend to get his ears bitten off and has a diamond-studded cover on his right ear to protect him from such a circumstance. As per the New York Post, the cover, which packed precious stones, cost him $100,000 and was made by a Miami-based jewelry designer, Vobara.

“I’m not getting my s*** bit off on Friday night. So I got my diamond, spiked, ear covers right there,” as reported by The Daily Mail.

Jake Paul’s gesture was a major taunt to Mike Tyson before their fight on Saturday as he struck a nerve over one of the most controversial moments in boxing. The YouTuber-turned-boxer’s comments referred to a moment from 1997 when Tyson faced Evander Holyfield in a heavyweight rematch. 27 years ago, Iron Mike bit off Holyfield’s ear and left him bleeding, and it shook the boxing realm from the core. It led to Tyson’s disqualification and he also received a 15-month suspension for the infamous incident.

The 58-year-old Mike Tyson will make his return for a professional boxing match against Jake Paul, and the bout is expected to be an entertaining one. Both of them have showcased relentless efforts while training, and expect it to be one of the most legendary bouts of the decade.
