Manchester City are going through a mini crisis on the field having lost four games in a row in all competitions for the first time since 2006. Pep Guardiola and his side’s slump worsened after their defeat to Brighton in the Premier League over the weekend.
A key reason behind their slump has been the club’s injury crisis this season. But Manchester City have received a major injury boost heading into the international break as star player feared to miss entire season is expected to return to sooner.
Manchester City’s injury boost
Manchester City’s injury crisis have given manager Pep Guardiola a massive headache this season. With star player Rodri out for the remainder of season with an ACL injury, and other key players in Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, John Stones, Ruben Dias, and Oscar Bobb.
As it turns out in great news for Manchester City supporters, Ballon d’Or winner Rodri has confirmed that his recovery from ACL injury is going well and he could be back sooner than expected. Rodri was initially expected to come back next season but the midfielder has now revealed that he is likely to return this season.
“I feel I can return already THIS season, yes. It’s possible and I can make it happen, I’m recovering now, no pressure… it’s important to recover in the best way,” said Rodri in the partidazo cope podcast.

If Rodri does make an early comeback this season then it is not expected to happen towards the end of the season. Rodri won’t be back on the football pitch till April or May.

Manchester City will need to regroup in the international break as they find themselves five points adrift of Liverpool in the Premier League.
