PAK vs AUS: Pakistan beat Australia by 8 wickets in the third and final ODI of the three-match series played in Perth Stadium on Sunday, November 10. With the loss of two wickets and remaining eight wickets in hand, Pakistan chased down the target of 141 runs in 26.5 overs. Mohammad Rizwan’s men defeated Australia in a bilateral series on Australian soil for the first time in 22 years and the second time in history.

Mohammad Rizwan’s Tenure As Pakistan Captain Starts With A Bang

The PCB seemed to have ticked off all the right boxed with Mohammad Rizwan’s appointment as Pakistan’s white-ball captain last month. The series win in Australia is certainly a memorable start to his captaincy. PCB is expecting a lot from Rizwan’s captaincy as Babar Azam’s way of leading the team didn’t seem to be beneficial. Babar Azam had been struggling for quite sometime both with the bat and his captaincy. Under Azam, Pakistan faced early exits from the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup .

Before conquering the series against Australia on Sunday, Pakistan defeated the Kangaroos in the second ODI played at Adelaide Oval on Friday (November 8). In that match, the Rizwan-led side dismissed Australia for just 163 runs in 35 overs and then chased down the 164-run target in 26.3 overs for the loss of only one wicket. As Pakistan’s Pacer Haris Rauf won the Player Of The Series with his incredible performance, both the teams will face off each other in a three-match T20I series which is set to start on Nov 14 at Gabba in Brisbane. The next two T20Is will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground on November 16 and Bellerive Oval in Hobart on November 18. With Pakistan’s current victory over Australia enhanced the probability of Rizwan’s sustainability as Captain and PCB looking forward to continue with him as the skipper.
