Star India Bowler Set To Play Ranji Trophy Tournament After Being Left Out Of Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Team India’s Test Schedule is in full swing, with a lot of attention being relayed towards the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series down under. The selectors would be eager to make sure that they would send their best players to Australia to defend their title. The selectors’ eyes will also be on domestic cricket, where the standout players could receive a chance to be a part of the Indian Cricket Team for the BGT Series. A top India player is also on track to return to the Ranji Trophy series to prove his worth and find his way back to the Indian National Cricket Team ahead of the coveted Test series.

India Star Set For A Domestic Return Before IPL Mega Auctions, BGT Series

With the Ranji Trophy tournament in full swing, several Indian players will be aiming to deliver their best to get a chance to shine for Team India. One of Team India’s premier pacers, Mohammed Shami, is willing to return to his domestic roots. Bengal Coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla said he is hopeful of seeing the pacer back in the Bengal side for the upcoming Ranji Games against Madhya Pradesh & Karnataka.

“He is not available for this match (vs Kerala ), but we are hopeful that Shami will join us for games against Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh .

“He is a valuable player for India, and the team will require his service for the Australia series. Recently, he mentioned how keen he is about playing a couple of Ranji games for Bengal before travelling to Australia. Good outings in the Ranji Trophy will be good for him ahead of the Australia tour and will be a big boost for us our four key players are playing for India and India A,” Bengal Coach Shukla said as per The Indian Express.

Mohammed Shami was recently seen in Bengaluru when Team India headed there for the test match against New Zealand. To be completely healthy and available for the upcoming crucial matches, the pacer has been preparing diligently.

It looks like Shami will not be heading to the Australia After all! The BCCI announced the squads for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series in Australia, and the star pacer did not found a spot in the list. Notable call-ups have been made as harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhimanyu Easwaran have earned the spot in the Indian Cricket Team.
