The 2024 Edition of the Ballon d’Or Ceremony is all set to happen as it ushers a new era in football. This year, the Prestigious Title will be awarded to a footballer apart from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo . A lot of chatter remains on who will be winning the award this year as all the attention circles in Paris, France, where the award ceremony will take place. Brazil and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. was touted as the top prospect of winning the accolade and including it in his sparking career accomplishments. But ahead of the ceremony, a new update has surfaced which could shock the fans.

Vinicius Jr ROBBED off Ballon d’Or? Major Update Suggests Brazilian Forward May Not Win Title 

Right before the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, France, it looks like no member of the Real Madrid Football Club will be gracing the event — Not even the top nominee. In a stunning turn of events, Vinicius Junior will not win the 2024 Ballon D’Or. Club representatives, including Vinicius and his entourage, were scheduled to travel to Paris. But they decided not to attend due to the Brazilian attacker would not win the award. Fabrizio Romano also reported the same, saying that no member of the La Liga outfit will be heading to France.

“Vinicius Jr will NOT travel to Paris as Real Madrid know he will NOT win the Ballon d’Or. No one from Real Madrid will attend the ceremony. No Florentino Pérez, no Vini Jr, no Carlo Ancelotti, no Jude Bellingham,” Fabrizio Romano tweeted.

If reports are to be believed, Manchester City FC’s Rodri looks like the top candidate to win the award this year. He emerged as a prospect after Spain won the UEFA Euro 2024 title. Despite Vini Jr’s spectacular outings lately, with the most recent one being the hat-trick against Borussia Dortmund, his case was stronger than ever until the reports surfaced.

Apart from Vinicius Jr. and Rodri, other names in the nominees list include Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe , Dani Carvajal, Phil Foden, Toni Kroos, and more.
