Darjeeling: During her visit to Darjeeling, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee named newly born snow leopards and red pandas, adding a special touch to her tour of the hills. The snow leopards received charming names—literally—as they were called ‘Charming’ and ‘Darling.’ The four red panda cubs, equally adored, were named ‘Healy,’ ‘Paharia,’ ‘Victory,’ and ‘Dream,’.

On the third day of her Darjeeling tour, Banerjee took an early morning walk from Richmond Hill to the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, also known as Darjeeling Zoo. Here, she interacted with the zoo and forest authorities who were earlier asked Banerjee to name the newly born cubs.
