This is one of the highly-anticipated Test series in the current calendar year and it will go a big way in deciding India’s future as far as the World Test Championship Finals are concerned. India recently announced their full squad for the Australia tour and much to everybody’s surprise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harshit Rana too has been called up.

Harshit Rana Reveals The Advice Given To Him By Kohli and Rohit

Harshit Rana grabbed many eyeballs while representing the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024, the eventual champions of the seventeenth edition of the cash rich league. After taking 19 wickets in 13 matches of IPL 2024 at an impressive average of 20.15 for the defending Champions, Rana was called up for India’s Zimbabwe tour. Though Rana is still an uncapped player, he has been travelling with the team consistently and has been rubbing shoulders with the senior pros of the team.

The KKR and India youngster recently revealed what it is like to bowl to both Rohit and Kohli in the nets. Rana also revealed the one piece of advice that the duo gave him.

‘I love bowling to both of them in the nets because they also bat with the same intent in the nets like they do in a match. So there is no scope for you to make a mistake or bowl ordinary to them. I also spoke to Virat bhaiyya and Rohit bhaiyya, so they just told me to focus on my length and I am trying the same thing here.’, said Rana, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.

As much as India would’ve liked to put themselves in a comfortable position for WTC qualifications, their hopes have been dented by New Zealand. After enduring a 2-0 series loss against the Kiwis, India have to now win four Test matches from their remaining six games. The five Test matches that India are to play in Australia will all be high-pressure matches and India need to be on the top of their game to not only secure a series win in Australia, but also qualify fore the WTC Finals.
